Student Spotlight: Leticia Mello Amoedo

Leticia is a voice student of Dr. Jessica Saunders and a piano student of Sarah Beckelheimer at Dynamic Music Studios in Coralville, Iowa.

How old are you?

10 years old

Why did you decide to start lessons?

I really enjoy listening to music and singing along to it. And I just wanted to get better at it. 

How long have you been taking lessons?

Voice- almost a year, Piano- two years

Do you play any other instruments?

Piano

How often do you practice?

Almost every day, not really using my score, I just go over it once it is memorized. 

What is one of your favorite pieces you have learned so far?

Scares to your beautiful, and Wake Up

What advice do you have for other musicians studying your instrument?

Always try your best, even if you sing the wrong pitch or say the wrong lyrics. 

What do you enjoy about lessons?

I enjoy how we work on specific songs and get better at those songs. 

What do you like about Dynamic Music Studios?

I really like all the events, and how the studio looks on the inside. It is colorful and decorated pretty. 

What goals do you have for lessons?

Just get better at singing

What is your favorite musical/orchestral work/piano piece/artist/favorite songs?

I like listening to the songs we are working on and Freya Skye

What other activities/hobbies do you do?

Dance, and Iowa City Girls Choir. I also like drawing and sketching.
