Why did you decide to start lessons?
I wanted to be able to accompany myself while I was singing, and I’ve always loved how guitar sounds.
How long have you been taking lessons?
4 years.
Do you play any other instruments?
I play flute in concert band, saxophone in jazz band, and I love to sing.
How often do you practice?
I try to practice everyday for at least 30 minutes, but sometimes it can be hard to keep up with everything.
What is one of your favorite pieces you’ve learned so far?
Basically everything I’ve learned so far has been really fun, but I especially love Vals by Bartolome Calatayud.
What advice do you have for other musicians studying your musician?
Keep practicing. Sometimes practicing can feel like a chore, but all that work pays off and feels amazing when you get to where you want to be.
What do you enjoy about lessons?
I really enjoy how I am able to learn so much. Sometimes I work on a song for so long and I mess up on the same thing so many times, but when I have a lesson, I can get a much better understanding. I know without my amazing teacher, I would not be where I am today.
What do you like about dynamic studios?
I like how there’s a tv when I’m waiting and I’m able to see other students and what they learn.
What goals do you have for lessons?
My goal for lessons is to be as good as my teacher. That would be awesome.
What is your favorite musical?
I love sooo many musicals. I may be biased because the movie just came out, but right now I really like Mean Girls. Mean Girls has one of my dream roles!
What are some other activities in which you participate?
I do musicals and stay active. I also really love traveling and seeing the outdoors.
What are your favorite guitar pieces that you’ve studied?
One guitar piece I enjoyed working on was Sweet Home Alabama. Sweet Home Alabama had a lot of different techniques I’ve worked on and it was really cool to hear it come together.
